Let’s Discover Happiness

Let’s Discover Happiness

In today’s competitive world everyone is so busy trying to meet there day to day targets and responsibilities to achieve something big, that they forget what they already have.

If you'll stop them and ask what are they running behind and if that will make them feel good once they achieve that- they have no answer. Reason being - we humans have forgotten the word "satisfaction". We are never content with what we have.

I wouldn't say that it’s completely wrong to have that zeal and desire to achieve something big. However don’t compare your life with others. If we’ll always desire to live someone else life we will never be happy.

What I am trying to highlight is that there is always something special in each and every one of us. Hence, we should stop focusing on what others are good at and concentrate on what is best in us.

A housewife thinks that after marriage and after delivering a baby there is nothing left in her life. She thinks she hasn’t and she can’t achieve anything as she has left her job, she has put on weight and so on. However she forgets to realize that she is raising a new life- not everyone can do that. It shows that she is still human and has emotions and can sacrifice things for her family unlike those who have become machines- isn’t that a good reason to be happy and to feel good about your-self??

An old man after his retirement thinks that he has wasted his entire life. He doesn't have much savings and his children think he was unorganized and could have done better.  Let’s have a glance at his life- he could have earned more money by going abroad but he choose to give his time to his family, he choose to enjoy those little moments when his kid will start walking for the first time, to attend his school dance competition or debates and so on... He never saved anything for himself as he has spent all his savings for his son to fulfill his dreams.

He was happy then but now by listening to others criticizing the way he lived his life, he feels disheartened. But that’s exactly my point readers-There is no universal definition for happiness or a defined formula for happiness. It’s different for different people. Something that can make you happy might not be the same for other. You have your own life, your dreams, your desires and your way of being happy. So "Stop following and start living".

Sit for few minutes and turn those pages back in your life and you will see those shining trophies that you have already got but never appreciated.

What I’m trying to conclude here my dear readers that take a break from your rat race and say hi to life. Re-access your assets (those small moments that still brings smile on your face or those moments where you have bought smile on someone else face) and i am sure you will discover happiness.

  2. True..I often tell this to people, however sad part is that by the time people realize it..they have lost it. Nevertheless, sooner the better, we can start living moments of life..least for the remaining days!

  3. Struggling to meet targets, streamlining the work, getting home, crash landing on my bed has always been my routine, I, most of the times tell the same thing to people but, better said than done, I am going to apply this in my life for sure. thank you Anubhuti
